USPS AWARDS CONTRACT FOR 9,250 COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE LEFT-HAND DRIVE BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLES.
The USPS announced on February 28 it had entered into a contract to obtain the new vehicles In addition, over 14,000 charging stations will be installed at USPS facilities. The goal is for the USPS to have a fleet of vehicles that is 75% electric powered over the next five years. However, due to the time required to create the infrastructure for the EV fleet, the USPS is currently purchasing 9,250 gas powered vehicles. The gas vehicles will fill the immediate need to replace aging vehicles. The electric vehicles will be purchased from Ford for delivery in December of 2023.
