Representative Carolyn Maloney, (NY12) has become the newest chairman of the House Oversight Committee. She had already been serving as acting chair of that committee following the death of former chairman, Representative Elijah Cummings in October. Rep. Maloney defeated Rep. Gerald Connollly in a caucus-wide ballot earlier this week. Rep. Maloney has served in Congress for 14 terms.
The Oversight Committee has jurisdiction over postal issues and is the committee to which postal reform bills and other postal related bills are referred.
