On May 8, 2020 Ron Strohman submitted his resignation to the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) effective June 1, 2020. His departure from the Postal Board of Governors leaves that body without enough members for a quorum. However, authority can be delegated to a Temporary Emergency Committee comprised of the remaining governors and the Postmaster General to continue operations.
Mr. Strohman has served as Deputy Postmaster General for nine years. Part of his duties included working with Congress on postal reform legislation. He also led government affairs international mail, and was instrumental in increasing vote by mail. Prior to joining the Postal Service, Mr. Stroman worked as staff director for the House Oversight Committee.
Mr. Strohman’s departure follows the departure of David Williams who resigned from the Postal Board of Governors at the end of April. Mr. Williams had also served as the Inspector General of the USPS Office of the Inspector General.
