What is Hill Day?

Hill Day is the opportunity for AUSPL members to meet in person with their U.S. Representatives and Senators (and/or staff) to inform them about issues important to postal lessors.

New members of Congress need to be educated about the network of leased postal facilities, and senior members will benefit from an update.  AUSPL’s lobbyist, Harry Glenn, often says, “If you don’t tell them, they won’t know.”

What you need to know:

  • AUSPL schedules the legislative meetings for member participants.
  • Prior to those meetings, a Wednesday morning training session will provide participants with information and discussion points.
  • An AUSPL Board or staff member will accompany members on each legislative meeting.
  • Participation in Hill Day will not preclude involvement in Conference pre-registration or the 6pm social hour (which are the Wednesday Conference activities).
  • There is no cost for Hill Day.
  • Participants should be able to walk long distances.
  • Sign up for Hill Day on the form below or by calling the AUSPL office at 800-572-9483.
  • Hill Day attendees are not required to attend the Conference, and Conference attendance are not required to attend Hill Day.
