Stephen Lynch, MA-8, introduced House Resolution 70 on 1-28-2025. This Resolution seeks to keep the US Postal Service as an independent establishment of the Federal Government, not subject to privatization.
Most resolutions do not have the force of law. They are statements or expressions of intent, and they do not go through the formal legislative process that leads to the President’s signature. Other Legislators sign on to Resolutions as co-Sponsors thus giving a sense of support for the concepts in the Resolution. H. Res. 70 currently has 100 co-sponsors.
House Resolution 439 was a previous version of this resolution introduced in the 118th Session of Congress, also by Rep. Lynch.
Stephen Lynch’s website describes him as coming from a postal family and being a tireless advocate for postal employees.
