Led by Senator Gary Peters, a group of 27 senators from both parties has signed a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and the Postal Board of Governors asking for a slowdown in the changes being made to delivery by the US Postal Service.
Regarding the changes brought about by the Delivering for America Plan, the Senators say, “We are concerned about the impacts these changes have had so far, and the potential impacts that further changes could have.” Service standards are not being met, and these senators have concern for their constituents.
Their goal is to have the Postal Regulatory Commission create a comprehensive Advisory Opinion which would study the impact of changes being made. This Advisory Opinion would be made before any further changes in delivery are made.
