As part of its exploration into the viability of drones or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for mail delivery, the USPS recently posted a request for Information on the FedBizOps.gov website. USPS is asking for “information from UAS operators and developers interested in providing aircraft and aircraft operations for delivery of mail and to collect geodetic/spatial data to improve all autonomous vehicle performance.”
This isn’t the first time the USPS has shown as interest in drones. In 2017 Workhorse Group, Inc. of Loveland, Ohio proposed to the USPS a delivery truck with a drone on top dubbed The Horsefly.
November 4, 2019 is the deadline for submissions.
