The December 8th meeting in Charleston, SC is vitally important to postal lessors. You may or may not know that the USPS has been working on revisions of standard lease forms since the late Spring of 2015. The USPS has completed work on that lease revision project and expects to begin using new lease forms starting on August 1, 2017.

The new lease forms will significantly alter the relationship between the USPS and postal lessors. At the invitation of the USPS, AUSPL was involved in the lease revision project form its inception, and worked diligently on behalf of postal lessors to avoid inclusion of some terms that would have proven extremely detrimental. However, despite that work, the new lease will require more of postal lessors.

Lessors who attend the Charleston event will receive “hands-on” instruction  in the operation of the new USPS lease forms, the ways in which the new forms could harm postal lessors, and methods lessors can use to avoid the most serious impacts of the new lease forms.

For non-members, this is a perfect time to join AUSPL and receive the benefit of the unique resources and instruction AUSPL makes available to assist postal lessors.
